Description

Early carloading chute for loading grain door boxcars. Seen in use into the 1950’s, and there are some even to this day still hanging on unused or abandoned elevators around the country. Our prototype was measured in Atlanta IL.

Early elevator chutes from the cells to the exterior of the elevator were typically made from 2×8 or 2×10 planks nailed together to form a box. Our chute is designed to attach to this style chute, which the modeler is responsible for fabricating. I suggest using appropriately sized square wooden stock.
